FIFA bans Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini for 8 Years

Fifa president Sepp Blatter and his Uefa counterpart Michel Platini have both been banned from all football-related activity for eight years with immediate effect, the Independent Ethics Committee of world football's governing body has confirmed.

The duo have been under a 90-day suspension following allegations of financial misappropriation. The Swiss allegedly wired some money estimated at $1.94 million to Platini, an act which the committee said breached ethics code regarding financial dealings.
