You Are Too Quarrelsome, PDP Tells Lai Mohammed

The Peoples Democratic Party has described the spokesmen of the governing All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed as a ‘quarrelsome and misguided’ individual completely unfit to hold responsible national office in a democratic government.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Saturday said the “cantankerous nature, resort to personal attacks and uncouth” description of a rival political party always, by the APC spokesperson while responding to critical issues, are indicative of his “background, pedigree, upbringing and emptiness as a low life”.

The party advised Mr. Mohammed to shed his ‘offensive narcissist tendencies’ even in his desperation not to end up being a minister without portfolio.

“The PDP counseled Lai Mohammed that having been a beneficiary of the benevolence and forgiving spirit of the senate president, one would expect him now to be mature, decent, civil and more organized in his responses to public comments,” the party said.

REVEALED! How Churchill Met Tonto Dike

On August 29, popular Nollywood actress Tonto Dike got married to Mr. Oladunni Churchill whom she initially disclosed as Mr. X. Before then, Churchill was married to Bimbo Coker and they got separated after five months.

Alexreports disclosed from an exclusive source that Churchill first met Tonto in a Church in Lagos after his divorce. It is disclosed that at first they became friends and later discovered themselves after over a year of doing business together as close friends.

Source disclosed that Churchill divorced his former wife on the count of infidelity and her street girl attitude.

However, Churchill who ‎is the CEO of Big Church Group Limited and Big Church Entertainment hinted that Tonto Dikeh his wife is not what people think she is, though she has a mind of her own. Robbers Force LAUTECH Students To Have S3x With One Another

A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State has narrated how robbers invaded their hostel, r*ping them and forcing them to have s3x with each other. In tears, Bimbola (not real name) agreed to narrate her ordeal to a Punch correspondent last Monday.
What she passed through in August was painful, unimaginable and dehumanising. In fact, she might not be able to forget that night in her life. Ever since the incident, everything about her has changed, according to her friend.
In the night of August 13, 2015 – around 12 midnight – she said she and her roommate had returned from a night reading class in preparation for their forthcoming exam in November, locked their room and were about to sleep when they heard their hostel mates jamming their doors, screaming and walking up the hostel stairs.
Before they knew what was happening, the men were at their door and expectedly, they forced the door open.
“Come out now or we will kill you,” she recalled what the men told her and her roommate, and with fear and trembling, the girls did their bidding.

Three hefty fearful-looking men, clad in black polos and jeans, armed with guns, machetes and axes had stormed their hostel – located in the Under G Area of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State – and demanded that all the students, both male and female, should gather in one room.
While one of the hoodlums stayed with the students, pointing guns at them should they ‘misbehave,’ the other two locked the entrance to the hostel, ransacked all rooms one after the other, stole the students’ laptops, money, debit cards, tablets and mobile phones.
But even after stealing all their property, the robbers were not done. The next command they gave the students was what Bimbola has not yet got over with.
She narrated,
“They r*ped some girls in our presence, but not only that, they asked us to start having s3x with ourselves. They called from among us a guy and a girl and asked them to have s3x with themselves, right in everybody’s presence. They threatened to use their weapons on us if we didn’t cooperate. Then they asked all of us to strip n*ked. Since it was in the night, most of us ladies already had only our night gowns on, while most of the guys were just putting on boxers. They said we should all be n*ked. When they were satisfied, they called another pair of students to do the same thing and told everybody to watch.
“For about three hours, they dehumanised us, humiliated us. Unfortunately, nobody in the next hostel knew what was going on; if anyone knew, they would have helped us to call the police or the Student Union Government officials.”
But what was more pathetic about Bimbola’s story was that she didn’t just witness the whole action; she was also asked to have s3x with a guy she never dated.
“Everything happened like it was a dream. They pointed at a guy I knew as my junior and asked him to do ‘it’ with me. When I refused, they slapped me and I fell. I had no option than to do it. I looked at my roommate and she was already shedding tears for me. How humiliated I was!” she cried.
She further told our correspondent,

“It was not a night to remember. I wish I could erase it from my memory. My friend and I returned to the hostel that night after reading in the school because our exam is fast approaching. If I knew something like that would happen, I would have stayed in the school till the morning, but I needed to prepare for the following day’s work. I had just finished having a shower when my roommate and I observed something was wrong. There was no light, so we couldn’t see properly, but we observed that our hostel mates were all jamming their doors at some men’s command.
“They cramped all of us in one of the rooms upstairs and we were all frightened. My parents are not yet aware of this incident and I don’t wish to share it with anyone again. I only agreed to speak to you because my friend here encouraged me to and I feel something should be done by the authorities concerned to stop this barbarism. I know I’ll be fine soon.”
Since July when they resumed for the semester, the students of LAUTECH have been witnessing robbery attacks and rape by the same set of unknown men – who call themselves ‘Three MOPOLs’ each time they barge into their victims’ hostels.
The Welfare Officer of the Student Union Government of the institution, Ridwan Okedara, said he could not count the number of calls he had received ever since the incident started occurring in July up till about two weeks ago. He said it was unfortunate that the hoodlums had yet to be apprehended.
He said,
“I’ve received calls in the past four months almost every passing night about this incident. Victims and eyewitnesses usually say the robbers were always three and they would tell them they were the ‘Three MOPOLS,’ but we are not sure if they are not even more than that. For instance, there were some nights when I received calls that the robbers were operating in the Adenike Area (a popular students’ residential area near the school) and I would quickly call our security officers to go to the said hostel, but few minutes later, I would receive a call that they were operating somewhere else.

“Before the security people could get there, the robbers would have left and we would hear they had started operating somewhere else. We don’t know their tactics yet. From what we have heard from eyewitnesses, they would enter a hostel, pretend as if they were looking for somebody and before the students knew it, they would threaten them with guns and machetes and ask all of them to be inside one particular room after collecting their phones, laptops and money. They ask the students to strip off their clothes – both male and female, then ask them to start having sex with themselves. They could call a male from say 200 Level and ask him to have sex with say a 400 Level female student.
“These robbers rape our students and then ask the students to have sex with themselves. We’ve heard a case when the robbers used white handkerchiefs to wipe the private parts of the students after the act. We are also suspecting ritualism here. They go to hostels anytime from 8pm to 1am and from eyewitnesses’ accounts, there was usually no light anytime the hoodlums carried out their operation.”
This is exactly what another victim of robbery in September by the same
The other victim who spoke with our correspondent said,
“It was very dark and there was no light to see their faces when they came to our hostel. They told us they were the ‘Three MOPOLS,’ and mere looking at them, we could not imagine how they were able to gain entry into our hostel and ordering all of us to go inside one room. We were told to take off our clothes and they raped some of the girls. They didn’t rape me and they didn’t ask me to have sex with anyone, but they stole my laptop and phone. It was traumatic. It was like experiencing hell that night.”

12 Ways to Maintain a Healthy Kidney

The kidneys are vital organs which are needed to maintain healthy living. Currently, about 1 new case of kidney failure is seen daily in any outpatient clinic in Nigeria with some clinics seeing more than 3 new cases every day. Living with chronic kidney diseases creates a big financial burden on patients because of the need a minimum of 3 sessions of hemodialysis daily, drugs administered during each session, lifestyle modification, change in diet and the cost and burden of having a kidney transplant. Many patients have died of kidney disease and have been burdens to care givers and the society but this can be avoided by living a healthy life and by avoiding certain lifestyles that damages the kidneys.

In this article, we are going to look at 12 Ways to Maintain a Healthy Kidney.

1. Blood pressure control: Uncontrolled hypertension is said to be among the leading cause of kidney failure. Hypertension is an elevation in blood pressure with values greater than 140 mmHg and 90 mmHg for systolic and diastolic pressures respectively. Increase in blood targets and destroys the kidneys over time leading to an irreversible kidney damage that will warrant dialysis of kidney transplant. In Africa, hypertension is so common and it is said that 1 in every 3 Nigerians is battling with hypertension which is a silent killer because it usually shows no clinical signs or symptoms. Control of blood pressure greatly reduces the risk of developing kidney disease and it is an important one can maintain a healthy kidney.

2. Avoid Alcohol: Excessive consumption of alcohol is an important toxin that damages the cells in the kidneys. When this happens, the cells can no longer function properly leading to kidney disease. Cutting on the alcohol reduces the stress on the kidneys.

3. Avoid cigarettes: Cigarettes contains tar and over 200 toxins that are harmful to man. These toxins are harmful oxidants that increase metabolic stress on the kidneys and other vital organs. Oxidants targets and destroy tiny blood vessels found in the kidney and also increases oxidative stress on cells leading to cell death. When cells in the kidneys die, the kidney can no longer perform its role leading to kidney failure and death.

4. Drink plenty of water: The benefits of drinking adequate water daily cannot be emphasized. About 70% of an adult weight is made up of water and water is needed by all cells and organs in the body. Drinking enough water daily improves kidney functions leading to healthy kidneys.

5. Eat fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants which targets and neutralizes toxins and reactive free radicals that damage the cells of the kidneys. Fruits contain vitamins and minerals that are essential for fighting against diseases and infections. Taking fruits and vegetables daily is another way of maintaining healthy living.

6. Avoid Over the Counter drugs: Statistically, it has been shown that nearly every adult in Nigeria has taken drugs not prescribed by the doctor of pharmacist. Several drugs available in the market are nephrotoxic meaning that they can damage the kidneys if not taken with caution. Taking OTCs can be very harmful and in major hospitals in Nigeria, it has been identified as a major cause of kidney damage. These drugs when taken for a prolong period of time can damage the unique and labile cells of the kidneys leading to kidney failure. Endeavor to take drugs only prescribed by your physician to prevent renal damage.

7. Reduce salt intake: Salt is part of a normal diet, just adequate salt is healthy for the body but taking salt in excess can damage the kidneys. It has been noted that African kidneys can't handle salt as the Caucasians and this has become a major public health concern because increase salt intake has been attributed to hypertension in Africans. Increase salt intake leads to accumulation of water in the water which in turn leads to increase in blood volume. The heart then works harder trying to pump this excess fluid in the body and this ultimately leads to hypertension which damages and destroys the kidneys. Reducing salt intake reduces the risk of hypertension and this helps to maintain healthy kidneys.

8. Adequate sugar control: Diabetes is a major disease that destroys kidneys. Increase in blood sugar for several reasons targets the cells of the kidneys leading to kidney failure. Diabetes is second to hypertension as the leading cause of kidney failure in Nigeria. For patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, it is important that you control your blood sugar properly to prevent kidney injury and damage.

9. Treat UTI promptly and properly: Urinary tract infection can affect any part of the urinary tract and the kidneys are not spared. Infection can ascend from the urethra into the bladder and then to the kidneys. Infections of the kidneys can lead to kidney damage and failure. It is advisable that all cases of urinary tract infection should be treated adequately and promptly by a physician to prevent the affectation of the kidneys. Antibiotics are highly effective in treating urinary tract infection.

10. Regular exercise: Having regular exercise increases blood flow to vital organs in the body, helps in weight reduction/ maintain adequate weight, increases the secretion of dopamine in the body, rejuvenate and relaxes the body. All this factors increases blood flow to the kidneys and also helps in maintaining healthy kidneys.

11. Personal protection at work (occupational hazard): People working in industries, factories, road construction workers have a higher risk of developing kidney disease. This is as a result of constant exposure to chemicals and metals like asbestos, silicon, hydrocarbons, tar, silver, and gold particles and other toxic metals and elements found as part of occupational hazard. It is essential that all workers exposed to theses toxins are protected to prevent kidney damage that may result from exposure to such metals and elements.

12. Avoid obesity and watch your cholesterol: Obesity is another risk factor for kidney damage. Increase blood cholesterol accumulates within the lumen of blood vessels that carry blood into the kidneys and this reduces blood supply to the kidneys. When this happens, kidney cells begin to die and subsequently kidney damage occurs. Maintaining a healthy kidney implies that you must control your weight by regular exercise, adequate and healthy diet and watching your blood cholesterol.

Kidney failure is a debilitating medical condition that puts strain on the patients and care givers. The best remedy is to prevent kidney failure from taking place

My Mum Is Having S*x With Men In Our House 6months After My Dad’s Death – Angry Daughter

Less than six months after my Dad died, our mum started seeing someone else. I knew their marriage hadn’t been great, but it saddened me that she could move on so quickly. She went to a party with her friend and when I waited till midnight and she had’t returned, 1 went to bed.

In the morning, I took her breakfast. I opened the bedroom door and, behold, there was someone (a man) on my Dad’s side of the bed.

He grunted and rolled over when he saw me. I was in shock. “What the hell is going on here?” I yelled then ran out of the room. Sadly, he was the first of many men. Most weekends, Mum would go out and bring someone back. Her actions are out of order. Do you think she’s in her right mind?

True Confession: Why I Had S*x With My Son

I’m a middle-aged woman. I currently reside in Bwari Area Council of the FCT- Abuja. I’m a member of one of the new generation churches, and a church worker.

After my first son was born over 25 years ago, we stopped having other issues. My husband and I had visited several prayer houses around the country. We have even being to Synagogue Church of All Nations, to see TB Joshua, but we couldn’t see him in person. Different Pastors have prayed for us, and we truthfully exhibited high level of patience, waiting for God’s response. I had met pastors and I had met PASTORS. 40 percent of the pastors we met had made advances at me, even at my age. I realized that most of these Pastors are truly not who they claim they are. ‘’See finish’’ is what I think was my experience in their hands. I do not need to talk too much about the anointed ones, but the warning is that we all have to be careful while dealing with majority of them.

'Christian Husbands Should Not Look At Their Wives During Sex'

A Christian website has sparked fury for advising husbands to avoid their wives’ faces during sex if their spouses don’t want intercourse – after saying there’s no such thing as marital rape.

 Excerpt from Daily Mail:

A Christian website has prompted outrage after giving men advice on how to enjoy sex if their wives are not in the mood by urging them to not look at their spouse's face during intercourse.

In a recent post on the blog Biblical Gender Roles, which gives couples tips on how to live according to the Bible, a man who goes by the pen name Larry Solomon writes that a woman who is not interested in having sex with her husband should 'fake it until she makes it', and the husband should completely ignore her lack of desire and have sex with her anyway.

'Focus your eyes on her body, not her face. Focus on the visual pleasure you receive from looking at her body and physical pleasure you receive from being inside your wife,' he advises.

Wife dragged to court for raping her husband

A South Korean woman has been accused of locking her husband inside their home for 29 hours and forcing him to have sex, reported the Daily Mail of UK.
The 40-year-old has been charged with the rape of her husband – the first time a wife has been charged with marital rape in the country.
It was only in May 2013 that South Korea’s Supreme Court recognised spousal rape as a crime.
The Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office allege that the wife locked her husband inside their house and forced him to have sex with her.
They allege the woman did this so she could obtain favourable evidence to use in divorce proceedings, Yonhap News Agency reports.
In 2013, marital rape was recognised as a crime for the first time.
The Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s verdict to jail a man who forced his wife to have sex while threatening her with a weapon.
Earlier this year, a court acquitted the first woman in South Korea to be charged with attempted rape.
The 45-year-old admitted drugging her ex-boyfriend, tying him up and hitting him with a hammer, but said she did not plan to rape him.

I’m Having S*x With My Own Son For Money

Last year, everything started going downhill. My husband divorced me, I couldn’t afford the rent on my apartment anymore, and I couldn’t manage the down-payment for even a cheap apartment. Then the convenience store I worked at shut down. My son Jimmy and I started to live in my car.

My old boss Mr B., who had always seemed the nicest guy in the world, gave me a few bucks to tide me over, but it ran out. I went for another loan and he offered me a “job” with would come with money and a trailer to live in. He said all I had to do was have sex with my son for his amusement every weekend. I threatened to tell the cops, he pointed out it would look like I was trying to get revenge. I slapped him and stomped away.

Three weeks later, after not eating for two days and with winter coming and still living in my car, I talked about it with Jimmy. We both agreed that we didn’t have a lot of options. So I went back to Mr B. and asked if we could take up his offer.

It’s been a year now. We live in a nice trailer that’s actually bigger than our old apartment. Jimmy’s back in school. On Friday night we drive over to Mr B.’s house and stay until Sunday night. It’s always different. Sometimes he makes us act out skits, sometimes he tells us to “do our own thing”, sometimes he has one of us jump and force ourself on the other, sometimes he just randomly has us fuck in different positions. Every evening ends with one or both of us “blowing” Mr B. He never participates otherwise. He paid extra for a Christmas performance last year.

At some point I stopped looking for a new job. I think we’ve both accepted that this is our lifestyle now. Jimmy actually looks forward to the weekends, and he’s begun touching me and has on occasion gotten into bed with me on weeknights. I can hardly object to anything, seeing as we’ve done things even my husband never did with me.

Mr B. says he’ll give us the deed to the trailer if I get pregnant. Jimmy and I are considering it. I don’t know if I should be disgusted with myself or glad that I didn’t starve to death.

What Is ‘Wrong’ With This Photo?

No it’s not about her weight, she is not fat. No not her arms they match her body…No still not her tummy, they are perfect for her and she looks totally simple and beautiful. But there is still something that we perceive ‘wrong’. May be if you take your time and don’t jump to comment you might see it. many will still miss it.

FG says it needs N233bn to rehabilitate Boko Haram ravaged states

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the North-East Humanitarian Multi-Stakeholders Engagement on Tuesday in Maiduguri, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on North-East Intervention, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, said N233bn was needed for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the communities ravaged by the Boko Haram sect.

The chairman of PCNI, who was represented by a member of the committee, Mohammed Danjuma, said the rebuilding of the ravaged states needed proper coordination to alleviate the sufferings of the Internally Displaced Persons.
He said the Federal Government and other stakeholders are determined to manage the humanitarian crisis in the region, adding that the IDPs would return to their communities after the reconstruction of their destroyed communities.
VP Osinbajo said:
“This region has suffered tremendously in the past six years. It has suffered from the destruction of infrastructure, farmlands, businesses, trades, the destruction of schools and the loss of school years.
“Rebuilding, restoring and rehabilitation will cost money and time. But neither money nor time can fix the trauma of loss of family members, relations and friends, the shame of the raped, the scars and fears of parents of the abducted and the kidnapped, the bewilderment that comes with loss of homes, possessions and livelihoods and the pains of hundreds of thousands of orphaned children.”
“The tasks before us are many and profound, to fix brick and mortar and to mend hearts and minds damaged by senseless murderous violence. But we are called not just to mend the hearts and minds of the victims but also of their traducers, and killers.
“The young men and women who have been brainwashed to kill, maim and destroy in the warped belief that by so doing they please God, they are also victims. Indeed, these perpetrators are themselves victims, trapped in the vortex of evil manipulation, compelled to dehumanise themselves as they shed the blood of the innocent.
“It is our duty to deconstruct the narrative that causes men to kill children on their beds at a boarding school at night even as we degrade the military capacity of the insurgents. The tasks are indeed many and profound.
“But while there is still so much to do, much has been done already. The many civil society groups, funding partners, regional and international partners who have given of their time, resources and even their lives in some cases, deserve to be commended. But for you, first responders, we would have been far worse off than we are today.”
He added, “We are in Maiduguri to show humanity and to give milk of human kindness to our brothers and sisters who for six years have been ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency by killing, maiming and abduction of innocent people.”

We lose 800,000 children from preventable diseases yearly – Ministerial Nominee

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Folorunsho Adewole, a ministerial nominee on Tuesday, said that Nigeria loses about 800,000 children to preventable diseases yearly.

Adewole, who is one of the minister nominees, made this known during his screening at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The nominee, who described health indicators in Nigeria as worrisome, also said that more than 40,000 women died during pregnancy and delivery yearly.

He expressed worry that Nigeria was one of the countries with the largest number of newborns with HIV.

He said if confirmed as a minister, he would be committed to preventing maternal and infant mortality as well as HIV/AIDS and cancer.

Fayose's Men Tutored me to Frame Fayemi's Aide For NURTW Murder - Witness

A can of worms has been opened at the murder trial of former Ekiti State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Omolafe Aderiye.

According to The Nation, a bombshell was dropped when Aderiye's personal assistant, Gbolahan Okeowo, said he was “tutored” by some officials of the Ayo Fayose administration to frame up the accused persons and a security aide to former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Adedeji Adesokan aka Jarule.

“Soon after Governor Ayo Fayose was sworn in, I was invited by Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, who was the Special Adviser (Legal) to Dr. Fayose who produced the statement I had given to the police on September 26, last year, wherein I wrote concerning what I witnessed to the effect that I did not recognise any person as the assailant and either did I mention the names of the persons standing trial as the suspects in the said statement.

“I was put under considerable pressure, including threats to my life and family, to write another statement which was tendered in court on October 7, the content which were dictated to me by Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, in company of Mr. Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the governor sometimes in October last year, which I backdated to September 26, last year on their instructions.

“The statement which I tendered in court was made in the office of Owoseni Ajayi at the Attorney General’s chambers, who in conjunction with Mr. Lere Olayinka provided me with the names of Adebayo Aderiye, Adeniyi Adedipe, Sola Durodola, Kayode Ajayi, Oso Farotimi, Adenijo Olusola, Adedeji Adesokan (Jarule) and Rotimi Olanbiwonnu and dictated to me what to write concerning them.

“Since I wrote the statement, I have been reporting to the office of Mr. Owoseni Ajayi at his office at Ministry of Justice, State Secretariat, Ado Ekiti, occasionally on his instruction.

“I emphatically state that none of the persons standing trial and/or indicted for the murder were present and/or participated in the killing.

“I made this affidavit for record and official purposes and state that I have not been induced in any manner whatsoever by any manner whatsoever by any person (s) to make this affidavit, and I did same of out my own free will and according to the dictates of my conscience and upon a reflection as to the nature of the sentence for murder.

“I have since been receiving daily threats to my life and grievous bodily harm from Mr. Owoseni Ajayi and Mr. Lere Olayinka in the event that I renege on my statement.”

However the government denied the claims, urging the public to ignore him.

“This person you are talking about, I don’t know him facially, I can’t even identify him," Olayinka said.

“I don’t know him, I have never met him, I don’t have anything to do with him. I am not a police officer, I am not a staff of the state judiciary. If he has said something before and he is now saying something else again this is the only thing I can say which he himself cannot deny.

“The last time he came to the court and gave evidence, the story was used on the radio and he called the following day that the story was giving him some problems that some people were threatening his life that was the only time we spoke.

“He said I should find a way to stop the story from being used on the radio and I told him that the radio was only reporting what happened in the court.

“He said he was being threatened, his family was being threatened and maybe because of fear for his life, he went to court and did some other things. That is his business, I have nothing to do with him.” he added.
