"Nigeria loses N1.3tr to oil thieves" –Ribadu's Committee.

The Chairman of the Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, said yesterday that Nigeria loses 200,000 barrels of crude oil daily to oil thieves that operate in the upstream sector.

Malam Nuhu Ribadu said that "the quantity of oil lost yearly translates to 78 million barrels estimated at N1,216,800,000,000 (one trillion, two hundred and sixteen billion, eight hundred million naira) at US$100/barrel".
He told reporters that the task of stopping the colossal theft must be tackled at all costs.
